This job was one where the client had just completed some landscaping on the sunny north side of their house. Soon after, their elderly parent came to live with them and wanted to sit somewhere in the sun.
Outside Concepts was called in. We designed an ‘L- shaped’ deck 2.1metres wide by 7 metres to sit within the new garden. The deck had to be built and cut in around the new rock landscaping. This necessitated a modification to normal building process in that each decking board had to be individually scribed and cut to fit perfectly against the rock edges of a boulder wall. Construction was carefully carried out not to disturb newly bedded plants and shrubs.
The result is a most pleasing ‘nestled deck’, sheltered from strong winds, positioned in the sun and providing easy access to the outdoors.
