A versatile Melbourne verandah
The clients wanted a Melbourne verandah designed and built for their poolside house. Pretty simple, you might think. The tricky part was they wanted the verandah to be extremely versatile. As well as providing complete protection from the rain, they wanted a verandah that would let in as much light and air as possible.
David’s solution was to install a louvered verandah for the Melbourne family, with a flat polycarbonate roof over the top, slanting back towards the house to allow a gap at the front. The roof combination gives the homeowners absolute versatility. They can have the louvers closed or open as they desire, with the polycarbonate roof providing protection from the rain while still allowing air and light in.
The verandah’s not just practical however. The use of an aluminium-framed structure perfectly compliments the house and the existing balcony, so the verandah looks great too.
